I loved everything about it except the spiders. There was plenty of hot water and awesome water pressure. Not a deal breaker although the giant spider by the door with web wasn't really big on my welcome list. I grabbed a broom and opened some windows. Overall place was filthy and hadn't been used in awhile. Even the Holstein cows on a picture on the wall are like the ones back home growing up in Holstein, Missouri. It brought back a lot of childhood memories. I never felt more at home although i had never been there and don't know of any relations anywhere in the region. We got in around 2 am Friday Evening/Saturday morning and left around 6:30 am on Sunday morning so we didn't get to stay long enough to really enjoy the place so what we paid seemed like a lot but everything else around was sold out. An earlier sawmill, built in the 1770s, occupied the same location the 1829 Sawmill replaced the older mill. The addition on the back of the Cottage is a large living room with vaulted ceiling, two sleeper sofas, a sliding door leading to the back deck, and a spiral staircase leading to a sleeping loft. Prior to building the Grist Mill at Sanborn Mills Farm in 1830, Theodore Farnum Elliot designed and built the Sawmill in 1829. To the left of the kitchen are two sleeping areas with the bathroom sandwiched between. From there you’ll enter the kitchen, with a cozy nook for reading or playing with toys while Mom and Dad cook. A very relaxing, all season sunroom welcomes you to the Cottage. It features spacious common areas creatively built around the central core of a vintage single wide mobile home. The Cottage on Sawmill Lane is the perfect location for a relaxing getaway. This two bedroom Hardiplank home is situated on 8094m block just 1km from the Kingstown Village and 46km west of Uralla.
